Diana Moran becomes an Ambassador for Breast Cancer Care15.06.10 Release
Diana Moran has been appointed an Ambassador for the charity Breast Cancer Care it was announced today.
Known to many as 'the Green Goddess', Diana has been a long term supporter of the charity following her own diagnosis of breast cancer in 1987.
Diana’s first role as Ambassador will be to host the charity’s legendary London Fashion Show on October 6th at the Grosvenor Hotel where all the models have had breast cancer. Diana has attended almost every Show in the event’s decade long history and even taken a turn on the catwalk herself.
Commenting on the news, Diana said, “I’m very much looking forward to raising awareness of breast cancer and Breast Cancer Care. Having had breast cancer myself I know only too well how important it is to receive relevant, reliable and uptodate clinical and emotional support and information. That’s why I’m honoured to be hosting the Fashion Show this year. It’s a remarkable event, and raises vital funds to help the thousands of people who are dealing with a breast cancer diagnosis right now.”
Diana has been seen across the country this summer leading an energetic warm up for Breast Cancer Care’s Pink RibbonWalks which have seen over 3,000 people don their walking boots and show their support for people affected by breast cancer. The events which finished only this month are expected to raise £1 million to fund the free support and information services that Breast Cancer Care provides to anyone affected by the disease.
Diana joins other well known supporters of Breast Cancer Care. Lisa Snowdon, Geri Halliwell, Denise Lewis, Meera Syal, Cherie Booth and Vanessa Feltz are also Ambassadors for the charity. Each of them has been affected by the disease in some way.
Tickets are available for The Show including an early bird discount until the end of June. Visit www.breatscancercare.org.uk/theshow or call 0207 960 3554.
